Shabu Shabu & Grill at Golden King Buffet Restaurant Hobbies of Asia Pasay . Golden King Buffet Restaurant was opened April 2015 by Filipino Teen Actor Jason Abalos at the Hobbies of Asia compound along Macapagal Avenue in Pasay City. This is a mid tier priced Grill and Shabu Shabu buffet that focuses on Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Filipino cuisines. While we were not impressed by the canteen like ambiance, there were quite a few dishes that exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend the Steamed Crabs with Garlic Sauce, Crab Rice, Sinigang na Salmon, Bitter Melon with Black Bean Sauce, Eggplant with Minced Pork, Samgeopsal Pork Belly and Beef belly for the grill and the vegetarian shabu shabu. The Japanese sushi and sashimi as well as drink station and dessert station were the weakest sections of this buffet, you would it at least expect proper drink dispensers instead of bottled coke which ended up flat and no ice cream? Focus on the crabs and you should be able to get a moderate level of satisfaction.
